My Story

VIKRAM KHATTAR

MARK 5 FILMS

Chapter 1: The Beginnings at Midi Tech

My journey into the media world began at Midi Tech Pvt. Ltd., where I had the chance to work on projects for major names like Sony Entertainment, Discovery Travel & Living, Cartoon Network, Pogo, and Delhi Doordarshan. Each project was an exciting new challenge. One day, I’d be creating content for a travel show; the next, I’d be working on children’s programming for Cartoon Network. These early days were a crash course in versatility, teaching me the skills I would carry forward in my career.

Chapter 2: INX Media and Real Stories

After Midi Tech, I joined INX Media, where I dove into the world of documentaries and reality TV. Here, I learned the true power of storytelling—how to connect with viewers through real, raw narratives. Creating documentary and reality series gave me insight into capturing genuine moments that resonate. Every story here added a new layer to my understanding of how to engage an audience deeply and meaningfully.

Chapter 3: Founding Mark 5 Films

With experience under my belt, I took the leap into entrepreneurship and launched Mark 5 Films. This wasn’t just a production house—it became a place to foster talent. I took on a mentorship role, working with young directors and writers who had incredible potential. Some of my mentees, like Kabir Mehta, Co-Director of Class on Netflix, and Kanishka Singh Deo, writer of Jamtara, have now made remarkable strides in the industry. Watching them grow and achieve success has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my career.

Chapter 4: Building One Shot Film Productions

Alongside Mark 5 Films, I co-founded One Shot Film Productions. We specialized in creating compelling content for corporate brands, focusing on crafting stories that connect brands with their audiences. Our goal was always to go beyond mere advertising and create narratives that clients and customers could genuinely relate to.

Chapter 5: Stepping into Directing with Date Night

During my time with Mark 5 Films, I also got the chance to direct a web series called Date Night. This project was particularly special—it gave me the opportunity to step fully into a creative role, from concept to completion. Directing the series reminded me of why I love this craft, allowing me to shape a story exactly as I envisioned it.

Chapter 6: Launching VIKA VIBES

My entrepreneurial journey didn’t stop there. I recently launched an OTT platform called Vika Vibes, now rebranding as Youflix. This platform is designed to be a space for immersive, engaging content—a place where viewers can truly connect with stories. Creating Youflix has been a new and exciting chapter, pushing me to think about storytelling in fresh ways for a digital audience.

Chapter 7: Writing for the Big Screen

Currently, I’m channeling all my experiences into writing a feature film for a well-known production house. This project feels like the culmination of everything I’ve learned so far. Each scene I write is an effort to create something powerful, something that will connect with viewers in theaters.

From my first projects at Midi Tech to now crafting stories for Youflix and the big screen, each chapter has added depth to my journey. Every experience has shaped my understanding of storytelling and deepened my commitment to fostering talent and creating stories that matter. This journey feels like it’s still unfolding, with new chapters yet to come.
